This was reported by the Korean resource ZNet Korea, citing sources from component manufacturers. According to sources, for its folding smartphone, Xiaomi plans to get flexible OLED panels manufactured by Samsung Display, which are used in the Galaxy Z Flip. Whereas Motorola Razr is equipped with BOE and CSOT screens.
Mass production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2020. Additional details about the Xiaomi clamshell are reported.
Xiaomi received a patent with a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip last year. On the basis of the drawings, conceptual renderings were created at the same time, which gives the first idea of the appearance of a future novelty. They were created by Wakar Khan (Waqar Khan), quite well known just for the renderings on future smartphones.
