We are talking about a fully automated plant, the lines of which can function without human intervention. The plant will use the most modern technologies in the field of robotics. It is assumed that this approach will reduce the cost of devices, and hence the final price.

For the future plant, the volume of production of smartphones has already been determined – over 10 million devices per year. In other words, one smartphone will leave the lines of the enterprise approximately every three seconds.

Xiaomi already has experience in operating a smart cell phone factory. The automated enterprise, located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, has been operating for six months. It is designed to release 1 million premium smartphones annually.

Alas, Lei Jun did not specify where the new smartphone plant will be located. Investments in this project were also not disclosed.
