The first aircraft will be delivered in 2027
JSC Yakovlev (part of the UAC state corporation Rostec) and the Aurora airline signed an agreement of intent for the supply of 10 Russian MS-21 aircraft.
The first two aircraft are planned to be delivered to the airline by the end of 2027. The remaining aircraft will be delivered to the customer in the period from 2027 to 2030, as stated in the Rostec statement.
“Today, increasing transport accessibility of socially significant regions is one of the priorities for the aviation industry. As the leading manufacturer of civil airliners in Russia, Yakovlev is doing everything to solve it, and the next important step in this direction was the signing of an agreement of intent with Aurora Airlines. I am confident that with the help of new domestic MS-21 aircraft, the airline will be able to maintain and increase passenger traffic in the Far East,” said Andrei Boginsky.

“The airline looks confidently into the future and plans its fleet of aircraft for main routes. Passenger traffic on them continues to grow, and we need an aircraft that will allow us to maintain a high level of service for passengers on routes connecting the largest cities of the Far East and through them our entire network with the largest airports in Siberia,” added Konstantin Sukhorebrik.
In April, it became known that serial production of MS-21 airliners with Russian PD-14 engines is planned to begin in 2024, the first six aircraft will be delivered in the same year.
