Yakuza: Like a Dragon is out on PS5, but players are faced with the problem of upgrading the version for PS4

Sega Publishing and development studio Ryu Ga Gotoku announced their crime RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PlayStation 5. However, the release was not without a fly in the ointment.

Recall that the version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon for the current generation console of Sony Interactive Entertainment lagged noticeably relative to other target platforms’ editions – the difference was a little less than four months.

What exactly is the reason for such a significant delay, Sega did not explain (although there were rumors on this score ), but the expectation of PlayStation 5 buyers, in any case, came to an end.

The Japanese publishing house decided to mark the premiere of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on a new target platform for it with an almost two-minute trailer, which in fact turned out to be identical to the release one.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon for PS5 is available for purchase from the PS Store on the same page and at the same prices as the PS4 editions – this is because owners of the game on past generation consoles are entitled to a free upgrade.

However, there are still problems with this. The Push Square portal reports that when trying to update the digital version, the store only offers to buy the game. With the retail version, such troubles are not observed.

Earlier, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will not receive support for transferring saves from PS4 to PS5. But at the end of February this year, a patch was released for the game (including on consoles), which adds a text translated into Russian.
