Yakuza: Like a Dragon received ratings at the level of previous parts, but still divided the journalists

A little less than a week is left until the western release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Sega has lifted the ban on publishing review materials on the new part of its crime series.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon received 55 Metacritic ratings, divided among the main target platforms: PS4 (26 reviews), PC (11), Xbox One (11), and Xbox Series X (7).

According to the average score of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Xbox One escaped from the listed systems – 90%. The Xbox Series X (86%) and PS4 (84%) are slightly behind, and the PC version was the worst received by critics – only 79%.

The journalists were pleased with the proprietary humor of the developers, the skillful implementation of the role-playing concept, and the pleasant characters. Critics were disappointed by the difficult balance issues and the battle system that got boring over time.

The lowest rating (70%) for the project along with two other portals was given by IGN“Due to the problems with the orientation [of the characters in space] and a number of jumps in complexity in the last chapters, completing the story is much more tedious than in the case of past games

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released on November 10 on PC (Steam, Windows 10), PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S, and will reach PS5 on March 2, 2021. Due to the delay in release, reviews of the PS5 version are not expected anytime soon.
