In December last year, Elon Musk blocked the @ElonJet account.

Jack Sweeney, a Florida college student, posted his first Threads post under the username @elonmusksjet after being banned by Twitter last December.

Recall that Twitter at the end of last year blocked accounts that track the location of private jets, including the @ElonJet account that tracked Elon Musk’s plane.

“ElonJet has arrived in Threads!” Sweeney wrote in a post that garnered over 7,700 likes and over 200 comments. In the next post, Sweeney reached out to Meta* founder Mark Zuckerberg, writing, “@zuck am I allowed to stay.”

Musk’s decision to suspend Sweeney’s account last year came shortly after he vowed not to , stating last November, “My commitment to free speech extends even to not suspending an account following my plane, although that is direct risk to personal safety.

Musk later said, “Any account that transmits real-time location information will be banned as it is a violation of physical security. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location information.”
