Zoom, after the release of the AMS-24 model, completes the AMS line with the AMS-44 portable sound card, which is compatible with Windows/Mac and iOS/Android mobile devices. It is reported that the interface, in addition to being powered via USB-C, can also be powered by batteries (AA x 2).
The device has four gain controls, and two output level controls and records sound at up to 24-bit/96kHz. It is stated that the entire series of AMS interfaces has switches for music and streaming modes (music mode gives advanced routing options for recording to DAW, and streaming mode combines all inputs into one signal and eliminates the need for additional software).
Among other things, the device is equipped with such switches as Hi-Z, phantom power, DIRECT MONITOR, LOOPBACK, and switching to standalone mode. For switching, there are four combined XLR / TRS inputs (one of them Hi-Z), two TRS outputs, and two stereo headphone outputs (3.5 mm).
Zoom AMS-44 will be available for purchase in the third quarter of 2022 for about $170.
