Acer unveils Nitro gaming monitors with HDMI 2.1 and Predator with NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer

Acer has unveiled its first HDMI 2.1 monitor. The new Nitro XV28K KV is based on a 28-inch IPS-matrix and can display an uncompressed image in 4K resolution with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. In this case, the maximum supported refresh rate for the display is 144 Hz, but you must use the DisplayPort connector in this case.

Due to its characteristics, the Nitro XV282K KV can be an excellent choice for use with the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X game consoles, which have HDMI 2.1 ports, and also support high resolution and refresh rates.

For PC users, the novelty is ready to offer the AMD FreeSync Premium function, which synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rate with the frames generated by the video card. Other features include 90% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 1ms response time (GtG). On sale, Acer Nitro XV282K KV will appear in May. The manufacturer estimated the novelty at $ 900 (950 euros).

Curiously, Acer decided to monitor the younger Nitro series an HDMI 2.1 interface, but at the same time did not declare support for the new standard in the older Predator series monitors. The latter has also been expanded with two models today – the 27-inch Predator XB273U NX and the 31.5-inch XB323QK NV. And if for the Predator XV273U NX model with support for a maximum resolution of 1440p this moment is not fundamental, then the older version with support for 4K resolution the new  HDMI 2.1 would come in handy.

But the Predator XV273U NX model received another technologyNVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, which allows you to measure input latency and reduce it by up to 50%. This feature may appeal to professional gamers who, thanks to it, will be able to get the most out of the monitor’s stated refresh rate of 240 Hz (275 Hz in overclocking mode). Let’s add that  NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer also requires using a computer mouse with its support. Such rodents can offer it as Logitech G Pro Wireless, Asus ROG Chakram Core, Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro and SteelSeries Rival 3.

Like the Nitro model, the Predator XB273U is built on a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified IPS panel. The display claims 95 per cent DCI-P3 colour space, NVIDIA G-Sync technology and 0.5ms GTG response time. The monitor will be on sale in May. The manufacturer estimated it at $ 1100 (1180 euros).

The older 31.5-inch model Acer Predator XB323QK NV is equipped with an IPS-screen with 4K resolution and 144 GHz refresh rate. The manufacturer declared the new items’ compliance with the DisplayHDR 400 standard and support for 90 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. Other features include AMD FreeSync support and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility. This novelty will also appear in May for $ 1200 (1200 euros).
