Samsung confirms One UI 3.0 beta coming soon for Galaxy S20 users

Two months ago, Samsung introduced the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 for the Galaxy S20 series. One UI 3.0 developer beta was released earlier this month, and UI design changes and all-new features were revealed. The company announced that it will soon release a public beta of One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 series.

The community manager said that the One UI 3.0 beta is coming soon for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 +, and Galaxy S20 Ultra in South Korea. Interested users can register for the program through the Samsung Members app. The official launch date and download link will be open through the app, so it’s time for those wishing to install the app and keep the device ready.

For now, the release plan has only been made public for South Korea, but the beta program should soon open to users in other markets such as Russia, Germany, India, and the United States. Following the release of the One UI 3.0 beta update for the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung may also launch a similar program for the Galaxy Note 20 series.

One UI 3.0 brings camera advancements including improved autofocus and stabilization to the Galaxy S20 series. Other features include a message trash can, the ability to delete duplicate contacts, and call screen customization. The improved Calendar and Reminders apps are also part of the package. Samsung has also added weekly trends for Digital Wellbeing and separate profiles for work and user environments. The lock screen widget is also available in One UI 3.0.

A long press on an app icon allows you to add the associated widget to your home screen. The screen can be locked by double-tapping an empty area. Android 11 features such as a chat section in the notification area, chat pop-ups and a media playback widget are also present in One UI 3.0. Other innovations include an improved version of Samsung Internet with several new add-ons and enhancements for the Samsung keyboard and Wireless DeX.
