The Shenzhen-based automaker has always sold cars only under its BYD brand, but the company recently introduced three new sub-brands. First, in December 2021, BYD took control of Denza, a former joint venture with Daimler. In January 2023, the YangWang brand and the first hardcore SUV YangWang U8 were launched (in the new photo, the new items were shown side by side). The third brand is FangChengBao.

According to BYD, FangChengBao will be located between Denza and YangWang in the price range from 56 to 86 thousand dollars. All of BYD’s new sub-brands are in the premium segment in China, but Denza will be the cheapest and YangWang the most premium.

The length of the SF reaches 5 meters with a wheelbase of 2.8 meters. It will be an all-wheel drive hybrid SUV with 680 hp. with a power reserve of 1200 km (CLTC). It will be equipped with DiSus-P adaptive suspension.

The SF SUV will compete with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class in China and most likely also with the Mercedes-Benz EQG if BYD releases an all-electric version later.

In April last year, BYD completely ceased production of ICE vehicles and continues to sell only vehicles powered by new energy sources. The company plans to sell between 3 and 3.6 million vehicles this year. In May, BYD set an all-time record with 240,220 vehicle sales, up 108% from last year. In the first five months of the year, BYD sold 996,476 vehicles.
