Even though this is just a prototype.
Many companies are wondering what could replace the ubiquitous smartphones. And while Apple is tinkering with a mixed reality headset, former designers and engineers from the Cupertino corporation have shown their version of the device of the future to replace smartphones. The novelty was presented at the TED 2023 exhibition.
Imran Chaudhry and Bethany Bongiorno showed a portable Humane projector that attaches to clothes. The device has a camera, speakers, microphone, memory and an artificial intelligence chip. With it, you can take photos and record videos, communicate in instant messengers and mail, make calls, view information on the Internet, take notes, and so on. The system provided a voice assistant, and a palm or any other object can become a “screen”.

As noted, Humane does not need to be connected to a smartphone, the projector is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip running Android OS. Gesture control is supported.
It is not yet known when it is planned to release such a device on the market and at what price. It is also not reported how long the novelty can work on a single battery charge, whether the information will be displayed in full color or only in green, how data protection is implemented when the projector is stolen, and so on.
