A real gaming monster: ASUS introduced the ROG Phone 3 smartphone and accessories

ASUS ROG Phone 3 will receive three memory configurations. In the European market, the flagship version with 16/512 GB will cost € 1099, the simpler 12/512 GB model will cost € 999, and the most affordable Strix Edition 8/256 GB version with a simpler Snapdragon 865 processor will cost € 799.

Features include support for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology, an intuitive AI interface, and an updated GameCool 3 cooling system designed to deliver high performance without overheating.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 features a 6.59-inch 144Hz AMOLED display (120, 90, or 60Hz more economical modes supported) and 1ms latency for high color fidelity with Delta E <1. The device also boasts the lowest touch delay on the market – only 25 milliseconds (270 Hz). The 10-bit display also supports HDR10 + high dynamic range content. For a more comfortable viewing experience, the display is certified Low Blue Light (hardware reduction of ultraviolet radiation) and Flicker Reduced (reduced flicker) from TÜV Rheinland.

he design of ROG Phone 3 retains the core gaming advantages of its predecessors, including the unique side charging port. There are also innovations like a transparent part of the back cover above the radiator. With a 6000mAh battery, the ROG Phone 3 delivers excellent battery life.

ROG Phone 3 features 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which is 20% more energy-efficient and 51% faster than LPDDR4. This allows apps and games to load at maximum speed thanks to the 512GB UFS 3.1 drive. For those looking to purchase the more affordable ROG Phone 3, ASUS has unveiled the Strix Edition based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Paid attention to ASUS and camera capabilities. ROG Phone 3 is equipped with a camera with a powerful Sony IMX686 main module with a resolution of 64 MP and an aperture of f / 1.8. It is complemented by an ultra-wide-angle 13MP module with a 125 ° viewing angle and a 5MP macro module.

ROG Phone 3 also has a number of interesting video capabilities. The smartphone can offer video recording in HDR and directional audio (when background noise is muted and the voice is amplified). You can also record clips in 8K resolution at 30 fps or in 4K at up to 120 fps. In Full HD, you can shoot at up to 480 fps. There is also a Pro Video mode, which gives access to all manual video settings, similar to the Pro Photo mode for photos.

Comfortable control in games is provided by two programmable ultrasonic sensors AirTrigger 3, and the system has been supplemented with a motion sensor, which gives players even more control options. The latest and improved X Mode performance optimization software delivers faster screen refresh rates, improved touch sensitivity, and faster network connectivity.

ROG Phone 3 also features an updated audio system tuned in collaboration with Dirac (75 points in DXOMark Audio). A new dedicated game mode enhances in-game sound effects for a more immersive gaming experience. And the powerful dual front-facing speakers located at the top and bottom of the phone are now capable of delivering even richer and more detailed stereo sound in landscape orientation.

The smartphone also received new accessories: the ROG Kunai 3 game controller for more convenient control; ROG Clip for using your smartphone with PlayStation 4, Google Stadia or Xbox controllers; ROG TwinView 3 docking station with the ability to display images on a large screen; ROG Lighting Armor protective case with Aura lighting.

We can also mention the active cooler AeroActive Cooler 3 with a USB-C port at the bottom, which allows you to charge the ROG Phone 3 while playing. It also allows you to connect traditional wired headphones through the 3.5mm jack for maximum compatibility.

Separately, it is worth noting the cooperation of ASUS with Unity Technologies and Google Stadia. Game developers using the Unity engine to create real-time 3D content will have exclusive access to the ROG Phone’s five-feature plug-in, making it easy for them to optimize their games for the ROG Phone.
