The Chinese hypercar Hongqi Red Flag S9, which debuted as a concept at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, is ready for serial production. The final version of the sports car will be shown at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, followed by retail sales. True, not everyone will be able to afford such a car: it is expected that the price will exceed the mark of 10 million yuan (this is about 1.5 million US dollars).

The Hongqi Red Flag S9 looks a lot like McLaren cars, but the development is original: employees of the FAW research group in Central Europe worked on the design. Recall that Hongqi (read Khuntsi, and translated as “Red Banner”) is one of the oldest automobile brands in China, best known for its executive class cars for the leaders of the PRC. Cars under this brand are produced by FAW Group.
Hongqi Red Flag S9 is a hybrid hypercar equipped with a V8 gasoline engine and an electric motor. The total power of the power plant is 1400 hp. Not surprisingly, the car accelerates to 100 km / h in just 1.9 seconds and is capable of reaching speeds of 400 km / h. Interestingly, the hypercar will be produced simultaneously in China (Changchun city) and Italy (Emilia-Romagna, where Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati are also produced). A total of 70 copies of the Hongqi Red Flag S9 are planned to be released.
