COVID-19 pandemic affected supply in Q1
Deliveries of monoblock personal computers around the world in the current quarter will grow by more than 30% compared with the first quarter, when a sequential, that is, compared with the previous quarter, decrease by 29% was recorded. This forecast is given by specialists at Digitimes Research.
According to Digitimes Research, global shipments of all-in-one PCs will recover already in the current quarter
The supply in the first quarter was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted PC production, logistics, and demand from enterprises. As a result, only 2.14 million monoblocks were shipped during the quarter. Digitimes Research estimates that all leading all-in-one PC vendors have reduced supplies.
Lenovo, the leader, cut shipments by 35%, as its home market, China, was the center of the pandemic in the first quarter. Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Apple recorded a drop of 27-29%.
The increase in shipments in the second quarter is due to the fact that the supply chain has already restored its capacity, and orders pending from the first quarter are ready to be completed.
Apple is expected to show the greatest growth, and this will allow it to squeeze HP from the second step in the list of the main suppliers of monoblock PCs.
