Previously, these aircraft belonged to foreign leasing companies, but are now “settled” in Russia
The Izvestia publication reported that this month Aeroflot removed 18 foreign aircraft from foreign registers, and now their number has increased to 120. This is 45% of the air carrier’s fleet of foreign aircraft.
Aeroflot has already removed 120 Airbus and Boeing aircraft from foreign registers
The 120 deregistered aircraft include 55 Boeing 737, 22 Boeing 777, 15 Airbus A319, 11 Airbus A330, 9 Airbus A320, 5 Airbus A321, and 3 Airbus A350. All these aircraft were purchased from foreign leasing companies.
The transfer of aircraft that were once registered in Bermuda or Ireland will allow the Aeroflot group to manage its fleet more flexibly, but the opening of new international routes on these ships is complicated.
