Almost samurai: blogger plays Ghost of Tsushima with a katana controller

Bloggers often play games with strange controllers. For example, Dark Souls 3 used a toaster as a gamepad, while Minecraft used a piano. Now Ghost of Tsushima has added to the collection of games that are played with strange methods. YouTube author Super Louis 64 showed off how to control a protagonist in a samurai action game from Sucker Punch Productions using a plastic katana-shaped controller.

The device was released by Capcom for the action game Onimusha, which was released back in 2001. The blogger managed to get his hands on this controller and modified it accordingly. As shown in the video below, the author made it so that the swings of the katana controller were responsible for pressing the strike key. Control of the camera and movements of the protagonist is assigned to the sticks placed on the handle of the plastic weapon. But with the rest of the commands, there were difficulties, since the location of other keys on the device is not convenient. In particular, it was inconvenient for the player to parry and change stances.

Ghost of Tsushima was released on July 17, 2020, exclusively on PlayStation 4. On Metacritic, the game received 83 points from journalists after 116 reviews. Users gave a rating of 9.2 out of 10 (15881 votes).
