Amazon extended the “remote” until June 2021

Internet company Amazon on Tuesday told employees whose work can be done from home that they can continue to work in this mode until the end of June, thereby extending the validity of recommendations for working remotely with January 2021.

“ We continue to prioritize the health of our employees and follow the guidance of local authorities,” a company spokesman said in a statement. – Employees whose work can be done effectively from home can continue to do this work from home until June 30, 2021. We have invested significant funds and resources to ensure the safety of those who choose to enter the office through physical distancing, thorough cleaning, temperature checks, and provision of face masks and hand sanitizer. ”

The announcement comes less than three weeks after the world’s largest online retailer reported that more than 19,000 of its U.S. employees have been infected with the coronavirus this year.

Recall that Twitter became the first major technology company to allow employees who can perform jobs remotely to work from home on a full-time basis in May.

Facebook said it will allow its employees to work from home until July next year, while Google has extended the telecommuting period for those who don’t need to be in the office until June 2021.
