During a conversation with investors, AMD President Lisa Su said that the premiere of new consoles will not be postponed.
Some experts are still not sure that the companies will have time to release PS5 and Xbox Series X due to the coronavirus pandemic. But, according to the manufacturer of the most important components of both devices, the platforms will appear on the market, as planned, at the end of the year.
PS5 and Xbox Series X“We expect revenue from custom-made products to increase in the second quarter and, especially, in the second half of the year, because we are ramping up production to support the release of the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles during the holiday season.”
The report is consistent with information from Sony and Microsoft. Naturally, it cannot be ruled out that the situation in the world may force the company to change plans, but so far everything suggests that the release is not threatened by a new generation. The only question is the availability of devices, as the latest news reported that the number of PS5 in stores may initially be insufficient to meet demand.
