Today AMD officially unveiled the Radeon RX 7900M mobile 3D accelerator. The first laptop with it will be the Dell Alienware m18 R1, and this device will also have a super-powerful processor – AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900M sets a new standard for mobile gaming accelerator consumption: the TGP value is up to 180 W, but the Dell website indicates a different maximum of 200 W (using SmartShift Max technology). For comparison: the flagship models of the GeForce RTX 40 line consume up to 175 W.

AMD presented its coolest mobile accelerator – Radeon RX 7900M

Radeon RX 7900M is built on a Navi 31 GPU with 4608 stream processors. GDDR6 memory capacity is 16 GB, frequency is 18 GHz, and memory bus width is 256 bits. The maximum GPU frequency exceeds 2 GHz.

According to official AMD data, the Radeon RX 7900M is on average 7% faster than the GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop in games at 1440p resolution. In general, the video card turned out to be powerful, but laptops with it won’t be cheap: according to AMD, the price of a finished device with a Radeon RX 7900M starts at $2,800. And this, of course, is in the USA – in Europe such laptops will be more expensive.
