90% want an iPhone as their next phone
Research firm Piper Sandler recently conducted a survey and found out a lot of interesting facts about smartphone users among teenagers. It turns out that 9 out of 10 teens use iPhones, not Android smartphones.
American teens are obsessed with the iPhone, but not happy with the Apple TV +
The study involved more than 7,000 teens in the United States, of which 88% said they are iPhone users. 90% of respondents added that they want an iPhone as their next phone. These teens also think Apple Pay is the second most popular payment method besides cash, but they also enjoy using Venmo.
However, not all Apple products are ahead of their competitors. For example, Apple TV + is nowhere near as popular as Netflix and YouTube. The latter two are the most popular streaming services for teens in the US.
Taking Stock with Teens is a semi-annual research project that collects information from 7,000 teens with an average age of 16.1 years. Discretionary spending patterns, fashion trends, technology, brand, and media preferences are assessed through a survey of a geographically diverse subset of US secondary schools. Since the project began in 2001, 201,800 adolescents have been interviewed.
