Analysis of the 1.1 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles: performance and graphics quality remained almost unchanged

CD Projekt RED recently released a large patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077, which fixed many bugs and crashes. But the performance and quality of graphics after the update have not changed much. This is proved by the videos from the author of the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits, which compares two versions of the action RPG from CDPR – with patches 1.06 and 1.1.

The blogger released a couple of videos in which he took apart the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077. The graphics on all consoles are the same: shadows, resolution, quality of models, detail, etc., have hardly changed. However, this was not worth expecting because the developers in the 1.1 update focused on fixing technical aspects.

As for the performance, it also remained at the same level. And this is strange because on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game is far from perfect. On Xbox One and Xbox One S, in “tough” scenes, such as chases with gunfights, the frame rate can drop to 20 fps. When moving around the city, the game is played on average at 23–25 frames / s. On PS4, these figures are slightly higher, but stable 30fps on the said console have not yet been observed.

If you drive a car through locations rich in details on Xbox One X, the frame rate drops to 26-27 fps. In other cases, the counter rarely drops below 30 fps. The situation is similar on the PS4 Pro, where minor drawdowns are observed only in certain situations.

Performance on next-gen consoles remains the same as after patch 1.06: Xbox Series S stable at 30 fps, Xbox Series X (in performance mode), and PlayStation 5 – 60 fps.
