Animal Crossing: New Horizons will continue to receive content updates in 2021

In a recent interview with Polygon, Nintendo US Chief Executive Doug Bowser spoke about the development of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2021, among other things.

Recall that throughout 2020, the developers supported Animal Crossing: New Horizons with new content and events: for example, on December 24, the project will host the so-called Toy Day.

According to Bowser, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons team is not going to be satisfied with what has already been achieved and will continue to supply the game with seasons, events and additional gameplay features.

In parallel with this, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also evolve through user-generated content – a unique and distinctive, according to Bowser, aspect of New Horizons.

Bowser also added that Animal Crossing: New Horizons went far beyond expectations: Nintendo did not expect the project to become an international cultural phenomenon.

“People have celebrated [in Animal Crossing: New Horizons] graduations, birthdays, and even weddings. We were delighted to provide players with a little respite during this difficult and troubled time, ”said Bowser.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released on March 20 this year exclusively on Nintendo Switch. According to Nintendo itself, as of September 30, sales of the game reached 26.04 million copies.
