Apple has postponed the release of an enlarged version of the low-cost second-generation iPhone SE smartphone. This was announced by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities, known for his connections with the Apple supply chain.

Anti-crisis “shovel” iPhone SE Plus is delayed. The design will noticeably change.

Ming-Chi Kuo has previously reported that Apple is working on an iPhone‌ SE Plus model. Then he predicted to release in the first half of 2021. However, now the analyst is confident that Apple has postponed the new model in the second half of 2021.

It is expected that the iPhone SE Plus will receive a screen design in the style of the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro with a screen in almost the entire front panel. For comparison, the recently introduced iPhone SE repeats the look of the iPhone 8 with large edges at the top and bottom of the screen, as well as a home button.

The screen size will be from 5.5 to 6.1 inches. Unlike the iPhone 11, the new iPhone SE Plus will not use the Face ID facial recognition system, but the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, but not in the home button below the screen, but in the power button on the right side.

The analyst has not yet announced the exact price of the iPhone SE Plus. However, the model will enter the budget series iPhone SE, which imposes certain obligations on Apple. A smartphone should be cheaper than Apple’s flagship Face ID system.

With the release of iPhone SE, Apple has stopped selling iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. And if iPhone SE has replaced iPhone 8, an adequate replacement for the iPhone 8 Plus has not yet been proposed.
