For example, an IPS screen and a normal CPU
Google created a new segment of the PC market more than 10 years ago. We’re talking, of course, about Chromebooks. Today Google introduced a new category of these products called Chromebook Plus.
In general, these are still the same Chromebooks; they are not fundamentally different from all other previously released mobile PCs with Chrome OS. The essence of Chromebook Plus is that the user when choosing a model from the Chromebook Plus category, is sure that he will receive a certain level of performance and certain parameters. It is something similar to the Intel Evo program.
Any Chromebook Plus will offer a certain minimum of features and functionality
So, any Chromebook Plus must have a 12th generation Intel Core i3 processor or better, or one of the Ryzen 7000 models. That’s it for now. Of course, over time, the basic specifications will be revised when new CPUs enter the market.
Also, any Chromebook Plus will offer an IPS screen with at least Full HD resolution, a webcam with the same resolution, at least 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of memory. In addition, each such laptop should be able to work autonomously for up to 10 hours, but here, as always, everything greatly depends on the usage scenarios.
Thus, by buying any Chromebook Plus, the user will receive at least good performance, a fairly high-quality screen, and a normal amount of memory.
But that’s not all. A Plus-certified Chromebook will offer the user access to several exclusive AI-powered features. These include the Magic Eraser in Google Photos, improvements to lighting and noise reduction during video conferencing, and offline file syncing to Google Drive.
Also, desktop wallpapers created by artificial intelligence, are a kind of personal assistant for working with letters, and in addition, the buyer will receive a three-month subscription to Photoshop on the Web.
Along with the announcement of the category itself, the first such PCs were presented. These are the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook Plus 16, Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus 14, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i Chromebook Plus 14, HP Chromebook Plus x360 14 and Chromebook Plus 15.6, and Acer Chromebook Plus 515 and 514. The cheapest of them will cost $400.
