A similar ban was introduced and canceled in January.
Apple’s newer Mac devices based on the Apple M1 SoC use the ARM architecture. They not only work for a very long time without recharging but also allow you to run mobile applications on laptops and computers.
Apple has banned the installation of iPhone apps on new Macs with Apple M1
With the release of the latest macOS Big Sur update, Apple has once again prevented users from downloading iPhone and iPad apps to Apple M1-based Mac devices. The company took a similar step in January, banning the manual installation of iOS and iPadOS apps, but the restrictions were lifted after about four days.
As reported by 9to5Mac, the latest macOS Big Sur 11.2 released last week will re-activate the server-side ban. Tests also show that the unpublished app download policy applies to the current macOS 11.3 beta.
As previously reported, if you update macOS Big Sur when there is not enough free space, the computer will stop responding, leading to permanent data loss.
Apple will not comment on this.
