To interact with the new service, you need to go through authorization at privacy.apple.com, after which you can submit a request to receive a copy of your data from iCloud. According to the function description, this process takes from three days to a week. It should be noted that the service has some limitations. For example, Live Photos, Smart Albums, Shared Albums, and media not stored in the user’s library are not included in the copy.

According to the available data, the new service does not delete anything from the library while it is running. He only makes a copy of the data for later transfer to Google Photos. This means that if the user no longer wants to store files in iCloud, they will have to be deleted manually. The tool will be useful in case of switching from an iPhone to some Android device. It is quite simple to interact with the service, you can create a copy in a few clicks, but before that, you should make sure that there is enough space to store your data in Google Photos.

Apple just launched a new service this week, so it is not available to all users of the company’s devices yet. According to available data, automatic transfer of photos and videos from iCloud to Google Photos is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the European Union.
