Apple to unveil iPad Pro with OLED display next year, if rumors are correct
Apple is expected to move its advanced iPad Pro tablets to Mini-LED arrays this year. These panels provide a higher level of brightness and contrast than usual for Apple tablets Retina IPS-matrix. However, a recent leak suggests that the use of Mini-LED screens is just a stepping stone towards the transition to OLED-matrix.
A source from Apple’s supply chain told Taiwanese DigiTimes that the California-based company would release at least one OLED iPad model as early as 2022. It is noteworthy that this information corresponds to a study by analysts of the British bank Barclays, dated December last year. They have denied earlier rumors about the launch of an iPad with an OLED display later this year and said that such a device would not appear until 2022.
Besides, according to rumors and the iPad Pro, Apple will equip at least one MacBook model with an OLED screen. Recall that the launch of the updated iPad Pro family is expected this month. It is assumed that the new devices will receive Mini-LED-screens and updated performance chipsets based on Apple A14 or even M1.
