ASUS is preparing affordable smartphones based on different Snapdragon processors

It is possible that ASUS will soon announce several relatively inexpensive smartphones at once. At least, this is indicated by unofficial information at the disposal of network sources.

It is reported that ASUS is working on four devices, based on motherboards codenamed Lito, Lagoon, Bengal, and Scuba. These names cover products with various Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

In particular, the Lito designation is the Snapdragon 765G solution, which combines eight Kryo 475 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz, an Adreno 620 graphics accelerator and an X52 5G modem.

In turn, Lagoon is a platform based on Snapdragon 690: the chip contains eight Kryo 560 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz, an Adreno 619L unit and a Snapdragon X51 5G cellular modem.

Thus, the range of ASUS may include two mid-level smartphones with the ability to work in mobile networks of the fifth generation.

The Bengal name indicates the possibility of creating a 4G device with a Snapdragon 460 processor, which contains eight cores with a frequency of up to 1.8 GHz, an Adreno 610 accelerator and a Snapdragon X11 LTE modem.

Finally, the device on the Scuba motherboard may include an inexpensive chip from the Snapdragon 200 family.

There are speculations that ASUS Max M3 smartphones are being prepared for release. This series will presumably combine the base model as well as variants like the Max M3 Pro and Max M3 Lite.
