ASUS is preparing to release ROG Zephyrus M16 and S17 laptops based on Intel Tiger Lake-H chips

ASUS has posted on Twitter a short video about the imminent launch of the new gaming-grade ROG Zephyrus M16 and S17 portable computers, which will be unveiled on May 11.

Notably, Intel is slated to officially unveil its new 11th generation Tiger Lake-H high-performance mobile processors on May 11 for gaming laptops. It is assumed that the new chips from Intel will form the basis for a wide range of productive notebooks from different companies, such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, and others.

The launch of the new processors will be an important step for Intel in the portable market. The new 8-core Tiger Lake-H chips are manufactured using the 10nm SuperFin process technology, support PCIe 4.0, and work with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs.

Unlike MSI or Gigabyte, which mainly focuses on updating existing laptop models, ASUS will release two brand new laptops exclusively for the Tiger Lake-H hardware platform. It’s worth noting that ASUS already unveiled the new ROG Zephyrus G14 and G15 laptops at the beginning of the year, available exclusively with AMD processors. The Zephyrus Duo unexpectedly got into the same list – earlier devices of this family were supplied only with Intel chips.

As for the upcoming new products, the Zephyrus M16 will be the first 16-inch laptop in the family and the second with a 16:10 aspect ratio (the first was the Flow X13). The Zephyrus S17 is also expected to receive a new keyboard design, and overall will be similar to the Zephyrus Duo, but without the additional screen.

Both laptops will be officially unveiled on May 11 during the ASUS Live Stream, which can be watched on YouTube and Twitch.
