ASUS Unveils Advanced Chromebook Flip CM5 Convertible Laptop Powered by AMD Ryzen Processor

ASUS has announced the Chromebook Flip CM5 (CM5500), its first hybrid laptop running Chrome OS with an AMD Zen architecture.

The computer has a Ryzen 5 3500U chip (four cores; up to 3.7 GHz) with Radeon graphics. The amount of DDR4 RAM can be up to 16 GB, and the M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 solid-state drive with a capacity of up to 512 GB is responsible for data storage.

The touchscreen display with a diagonal of 15.6 inches has a resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels). The lid with the screen can be opened 360 degrees for using the laptop in tablet mode. Control with a special stylus is supported.

The Chromebook features dual Harmon Kardon-certified speakers, a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6 wireless, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and HDMI 1.4 interfaces. Dimensions are 357.6 × 240.8 × 18.5 mm, weight – 1.89 kg.

The lid of the novelty is made in grey, and the surface under the user’s palms has a velvety texture, pleasant to the touch. The W, A, S, and D keys have received bright orange markings. The claimed battery life on one recharge of the battery reaches 10 hours.
