Engine power increased by 30%, suspension became stronger
AvtoVAZ has a novelty, but not for ordinary buyers: the plant presented a “significantly modified” version of the Lada Niva Sport T2 SUV for rally raids. This is how the insider public Avtograd News writes about the car.
One of the key innovations is the 1.6-liter 16-valve engine, which was worked on during the off-season: its power was increased by 30%. Also, the car received an improved cooling system and a modified transmission.

The suspension of the Lada Niva Sport T2 has become stronger, the wheel travel has increased. Interestingly, with an increase in the volume of the fuel tank to 180 (!) Liters, the mass of the car itself was reduced by 50 kg. Also, the updated Niva Sport T2 received a new interior layout, more comfortable for the crew.
AvtoVAZ will exhibit this “mad Niva” at the upcoming Silk Way marathon, the team will have two crews.
