Might have to wait until 2024
Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on PC on August 3rd and will be available on PlayStation 5 in early September. The Xbox version will have to wait, and now it has become known that there will be a lot of waiting.
Michael Douse, director of publishing at Larian, said the company hopes to be able to release an update by the end of the year.
We have quite a few engineers working very hard on something that no other RPG of this magnitude has achieved: seamless co-op in Series S. We hope to release an update by the end of the year.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be released on Xbox consoles until at least the end of this year
That is, at best, the project will be released on the Xbox in four to five months, but perhaps it will appear only in 2024.
Recall the reason for this situation in the Xbox Series S. The junior Microsoft console is very limited in its characteristics relative to Series X, and Larian developers, even with the direct support of Xbox specialists, have not yet been able to implement the split-screen function for Series S. This function allows you to play together on one console .
At the same time, Larian cannot release the game on Xbox in such a way that the feature is available on Series X and not available on Series S, as Microsoft policy prohibits the implementation of any difference at the level of gameplay between the two consoles.
