Blizzard veterans of Frost Giant Studios take inspiration from Warcraft III and StarCraft II when working on their strategy
Veterans of Blizzard Entertainment founded frost Giant Studios in late October 2020. The new team immediately announced that they were going to create a real-time strategy. And in a recent interview with OP Attack, co-founder Tim Morten revealed some details of the upcoming game. He mentioned the sources of inspiration and the goal that the developers have set for themselves.
The executive’s commentary states: “We really want to create a game that feels like an evolution of Blizzard’s RTS, and we’re inspired by Warcraft III, Brood War, and StarCraft II. We expect to be as unique [with our RTS] as each of the above projects. “
Recall that according to Jason Schreier, a group of Blizzard employees has long wanted to create an RTS, but the company did not support their endeavors. This is why the developers left and founded Frost Giant Studios. The team has already managed to attract investments for almost $ 10 million. In the same interview, Tim Morten said that he was pleased with the funding because the money received would be enough to release the first game.
The release date, platform, and even the name of the upcoming strategy from Frost Giant have not been disclosed yet.
