Mobile cards are much faster than their predecessors
Detailed characteristics and even test results of GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti video cards have finally appeared on the Web. In this case, mobile, but desktop versions are likely to be very close to them, unlike the older Ampere cards.
Budget graphics cards GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti finally showed what they are capable of
So, the GeForce RTX 3050 will receive a GPU with 2048 CUDA cores, while the RTX 3050 Ti will have 2560 of them. In both cases, the cards will have 4 GB of GDDR6 memory and a 128-bit bus. The GPU frequencies of the junior card, depending on the TDP, will be from 1057 to 1740 MHz, and for the older one – from 1035 to 1695 MHz. The TGP value in both cases can be in the range of 35 to 80 watts.
As for performance, as we can see, the youngest novelty performs at the level of the GeForce RTX 1660 Ti Max-Q and is 35% ahead of the GTX 1650. In turn, the RTX 3050 Ti is already on an equal footing with the RTX 2060 Max-Q or GTX 1660, not much lagging behind the RTX 2060. It is 40% ahead of its conventional predecessor.
Thus, in the lower segment, the junior mobile Ampere video cards provide a very significant performance gain. In the mobile segment, this will make gaming laptops costing about $ 1,000 much more attractive, while in the desktop segment we do not yet know the prices, and the situation with the shortage there has not gone anywhere.
