Consumables and office equipment brand Cactus has introduced a new family of projectors, which includes five models. They are distinguished from previous devices (for example, the same Cactus PRM.05B) by the projection system, brightness, contrast and acoustic parameters.

Cactus introduced a new line of projectors

Cactus CEO Roman Samoilov told iXBT.com that the company plans to introduce several more solutions for the public sector and corporations:Next year we plan to expand the line for the corporate segment using 3LCD technology. This technology was previously actively used by Epson. And I believe that at the end of the first quarter of 2024 we will introduce the first models with 3LCD to the market

He also said that components for projection equipment mostly come from China:

These are well-known factories that work, among other things, with vendors who have left our market, such as Panasonic or Ricoh. And at the moment we see no point in replacing them with imports. The technologies are quite complex, and organizing such production in Russia that meets the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is not yet easy. We plan to look at the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for Russian products in the coming year, and in a year we will return to this issue.

According to Sergei Avlasevich, product manager at Cactus, the difficulty of localization in China and other countries is that it takes a long time to approve documentation in Russian and certify test batches of goods for their mass production. This takes several months. But at the same time, the list of partners from Southeast Asia will be replenished. Work is already underway with Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Samoilov sees demand for both premium and simpler Cactus projectors not only in Russia. They, according to him, are ordered “from all EAEU countries, from Tajikistan, Armenia”:

We study the needs of the client or the needs of the industry from which the order comes. After that, we negotiate with the factory about what they can offer. We have a wide variety of solutions; we can develop and order a product for almost any solution and client request with any matrix and the required number of USB ports and other interfaces complementary to the request. Except, perhaps, 4K, which may not be available in some trim levels. Some technologies may not be available at present, although we clearly see solutions and are working in this direction.
