TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his accurate predictions about Apple products, said the Cupertino-based company is bringing in a new lens supplier for its new iPhone smartphone line.

According to an authoritative source, sunny Optical will join Largan, Yujingguang, and Kantatsu in supplying LG Innotek lenses for assembly. Simultaneously, Sunny Optical will be responsible for the supply of lenses for the main camera with seven plastic lenses.

Apple often selects multiple vendors for at least two reasons. First, if one company has a problem, others can always make up for it. Second, the presence of multiple suppliers allows Apple to achieve more attractive prices for components.

This week, Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Thomas O’Malley announced that all four iPhone 13 models would receive upgraded ultra-wide-angle cameras with different apertures, up to f / 1.8. In contrast, the wide-angle aperture iPhone 12 lens is f / 2.4.
