It is not yet clear when it will be released, but today it has become known that Wear OS will soon have tiles for third-party applications. The Jetpack Tiles library is already available for developers, although it is still in alpha version.
This set of tools will allow Wear OS software developers to create their own tiles, and users can select them as they wish. At the moment, owners of smartwatches with this OS can only use either native Google tiles or tiles created directly by the companies that have released certain smartwatches.
Recall that tiles are desktops with various information and functions. They allow you to quickly access the software you need. The Android blog says an update with support for third-party tiles will be released in the spring, but it’s unclear if this is about that huge update.
