Back in 2015, it took about 10 minutes to produce one Huawei smartphone
At the Changsha Cyber Security & Intelligent Manufacturing Conference in China, Huawei Vice President and President of Huawei China Cloud and Computing Shi Yaohong talked about its smartphone production speed.

Over the past years, Huawei has significantly reduced the production time for smartphones, he said. Back in 2015, it took about 10 minutes to produce one Huawei smartphone. And in 2020, the production of a new smartphone on Huawei production lines will take an average of only 27 seconds.
Earlier, Zheng Yelena, Chairman of Huawei Cloud Computing Technology and President of Huawei Cloud Business, previously noted that the company had reduced the number of employees on production lines:
We manufacture the Huawei Mate line of smartphones according to an improved cost management system. Whereas in 2015, each production line required 97 people, the Huawei Mate 40 requires only 14 people.
Despite the difficulties that Huawei faces today, the company managed to lead the online smartphone market in Russia at the end of the third quarter of 2020.
