Crew Dragon manned spacecraft re-docked with ISS

Crew Dragon manned spacecraft re-docked with ISS

It became known that the crewed spacecraft Crew Dragon belonging to the American company SpaceX has been re-docked to the International Space Station in automatic mode. As part of a docking operation, the ship successfully detached and docked with another gateway of the Harmony module. The TASS news agency writes about this concerning data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States.

The message says that in the process of redocking, there were four crew members on board. We are talking about American astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and the Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi. According to available data, the re-docking began on April 5 at 13:30 Moscow time and took about 40 minutes.

According to reports, the redocking was required to make way for another Crew Dragon ship scheduled to launch on April 23rd. It is assumed that he will deliver American astronauts Shane Kimbrow and Megan MacArthur to the orbital station and Japanese Akihiko Hoshide and Frenchman Tom Peske.

It should be noted that this was the first time the Crew Dragon was re-docking to the ISS. Astronauts Hopkins, Glover, Walker, and Noguchi arrived at the ISS on the Crew Dragon on November 16 last year. They are expected to return to Earth on the same ship on April 28. In addition to them, the American Kathleen Rubins and Russian cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov are currently at the orbital station.
