Dell Precision 3500 working laptop gets Intel Tiger Lake-U processor, but lost some features

Among the features of the Precision 3560 workstation are the new Dell Pro2 touchpad and keyboard. The first one has become larger but has lost the dedicated buttons, the second one has disappeared from the built-in joystick. Thus, the novelty has lost some functionality relative to its predecessor based on the Comet Lake platform. According to the manufacturer, recycled carbon fibre and bioplastics are used in the laptop case, but the company did not provide any details. For the updated version of the laptop, the manufacturer claims a 15.6-inch display with support for resolutions up to 4K, the ability to choose as a basis for new Intel Tiger Lake-U processors, up to the older quad-core Intel Core i7-1185G7 model with a frequency range from 1.9 to 4.8 GHz, installation of up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz RAM, as well as NVMe storage up to 2 TB. If 12th Gen Intel X e onboard graphics aren’t enough, Dell is ready to equip the Precision 3560 with an NVIDIA Quadro T500 discrete professional accelerator with 2GB of dedicated GDDR6 video memory.

Depending on the configuration chosen, the laptop will be able to offer support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless communication standards. Also, the equipment of the mobile workstation includes two Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) interfaces, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, one HDMI 2.0, an RJ-45 LAN connector and a 3.5 mm combined audio jack. In the form of available options, it is also proposed to equip the system with a fingerprint scanner and a slot with support for microSD memory cards.

Standalone, the Dell Precision 3560 is powered by up to 64Wh battery and comes with up to 130W Type-C power adapter. The dimensions of the device are 232 × 10.8 × 23.8 mm, weight – 1.59 kg. Dell indicates that the system is priced at $ 1189 in the base configuration, however, the manufacturer, unfortunately, does not say which components are included in this price. The Dell Precision 3560 will be on sale from January 12, at least in the US market.
