Dell unveils 40-inch ultra-wide 5K monitor for content creators

Dell unveils its first ultra-wide curved monitor designed for content creation. Dubbed the UltraSharp 40, the device boasts a 5120-by-2160-pixel matrix that’s wider than conventional 4K 16: 9 panels, but not as wide as most gaming monitors of this diagonal.

According to Dell, the new monitor “offers a wide colour gamut and excellent colour reproduction.” We are talking about 100% coverage of the sRGB colour space and 98% coverage of DCI-P3. Curiously, the company said nothing about HDR support. The monitor will be able to connect to a computer via a Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) connector without requiring a separate power supply. The monitor has two built-in 9W speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as a USB 3.0 hub. Among the video, connectors are Display Port 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports. The monitor, which will go on sale on January 28, will cost $ 2100.

The company also introduced 55- and 65-inch 4K interactive touchscreen monitors with 20 simultaneous touches. They will allow multiple users to write or draw in real-time with “virtually zero latency.” These monitors will go on sale from March 30th. Their price is still unknown.
