A higher percentage of Pro models is also expected
Apple is currently preparing to launch the iPhone 15 lineup this fall. Based on information from the supply chain, Apple is bracing for particularly strong demand this year.
iPhone 15 panel orders in June 2023 are “expected to be 100% higher” than iPhone 14 panel orders in the same period a year ago, according to new research published by DSCC. In addition, DSCC notes a higher percentage of displays for iPhone 15 Pro models compared to the iPhone 14 series a year ago.
Demand for iPhone 15 screens is much higher than it was with iPhone 14 a year ago
“At the current composition of panel shipments for the iPhone 15 series, Pro models accounted for 58% compared to 43% for iPhone 14 Pro models between June and July last year,” according to DSCC.
In June, DSCC also notes a 22% decline in shipments of iPhone 14 series panels compared to shipments of iPhone 13 series panels year-on-year.
The emphasis on iPhone 15 Pro orders reflects the desires of users. Demand for the iPhone 14 Pro at launch far exceeded Apple’s expectations.
