Developers Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! clarified release dates and target platforms for the game
Independent studio HappyGiant has announced an agreement with Big Sugar to release its VR adventure Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! For multiple virtual reality headsets.
Recall that until recently, the release of Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! Expected during the first half of 2021. As it turned out, only one of the game versions will fit within the indicated time frame.
Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! Goes on sale throughout June for the Oculus Quest for $ 30. Until the end of this year, the project will also appear on Steam and Viveport Infinity, and in early 2022 it will receive support for PlayStation VR.
According to HappyGiant CEO Mike Levine, Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! The team managed to create “something insanely weird and fun” while remaining true to the series’s classic games’ spirit.
“The guys at Big Sugar have been phenomenal support for us and are now helping us release the game on as many platforms as possible,” Levin commented on the publishing deal.
Recall Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! It will be the first original game in the series in over 10 years. Users will get the role of a recruit in the civilian police ranks, which needs fresh blood.
The project involves the authors of the classic Sam & Max Hit the Road and games in the Telltale Games universe. Also, Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell participates as a consultant in the development.
