The game uses the updated Anvil Next engine. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla boasts volumetric clouds, a snow deformation system, and motion blur for individual objects in the frame.

Of the systems analyzed, the Xbox Series S proved to be the most modest of the rest: the resolution is lower than all (from 1188p to 1656p), 30 frames / s, and weaker details compared to the older model.

At the same time, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions offer inferior 4K (1440p to 1728p), 60fps support (with varying success), and absolute graphics parity.

The versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X differ in performance. Problems with it are observed on both devices, but in especially stressful situations, the Sony console performs 15% better than its competitor.

In addition, on the American set-top box, there are more tears in the image and uneven camera movement in the splash videos, which creates the effect of freezing, which in fact is not.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PC (Uplay, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. According to experts from Digital Foundry, the game is rife with bugs, but this did not stop it from showing the most successful launch in the history of the series.
