DJI says its drones in the US can be bought and used after the imposition of sanctions

DJI says its drones in the US can be bought and used after the imposition of sanctions.

The world’s leading drone manufacturer, Chinese company DJI, has responded to the imposition of US sanctions against it. The company said that American consumers will still be able to buy and use its drones and other products despite the ongoing developments.

The Chinese manufacturer was blacklisted by the US Department of Commerce on Friday “for engaging in widespread human rights abuses in China through malicious collection and analysis of genetic data or high-tech surveillance. “

“DJI is disappointed with the decision of the US Department of Commerce. Customers in America can continue to buy and use DJI products, as usual, the company said in a statement to The Verge. ” We remain committed to developing the most innovative products in the industry that define our company and add value to the world.”

DJI declined to provide additional information on what it believes will happen as a result of being included in the sanctions list. As a rule, this means that US legal entities are prohibited from exporting any technology for blacklisted companies. DJI not only sells products to consumers but is also the market leader, which is why its solutions are used by a wide variety of companies looking for drones or portable cameras.

This is not the first time that restricting access to Chinese UAVs has been a goal of the US government. In October, the US Department of Justice banned the purchase of foreign-made drones from the state budget, and the Department of the Interior said it would not use its Chinese drones fleet until it was convinced that there were no problems with espionage and cyber attacks. DJI has argued against many of these actions, arguing that allegations of US national security violations are unfounded.
