In terms of the volume of pre-orders, it is at the level of the Hyundai Ioniq 5
Kia announced that on the first day after it began accepting pre-orders for the Kia EV6 in South Korea, more than 21,000 potential buyers have placed an order for the car.
Electric car Kia EV6, shamed supercars, aroused great interest from buyers
The manufacturer notes that this result is comparable to the record of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which was ordered by 23,760 people on the first day. As a reminder, the Kia EV6 was unveiled at the end of March 2021 and will hit the market in the second half of this year.
Sources believe that in Europe, the Kia EV6 may well overtake the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has been very well received in the region in terms of pre-orders. In the first week alone, 230,000 thousand pre-orders were issued for it.
In Europe, the Kia EV6 can be pre-ordered with a refundable deposit of only € 100. The company plans to begin accepting orders in May, with the first deliveries of vehicles to customers scheduled for September. The Kia EV6 will hit the market a few months after the Hyundai Ioniq 5, based on the same E-GMP platform but very different in design.
It was also announced that users who pre-order the standard version, GT-line or GT variants by April 31st will be able to use the Ionity charging network for free until December 31st, and will also receive a one-year subscription to the KiaCharge service.
As we already reported, the Kia EV6 was faster than the Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes-AMG GT, Porsche 911 Targa 4, and Ferrari California T.
