Enthusiast turned Mario 64 into DOOM and replaced ghosts with cacodemons

Super Mario 64 fan p3st gaming has released a mod that turns platformer into DOOM. Writes about this GameRant. The modder not only redesigned the appearance of the castle, but also the musical accompaniment.

In the modification, the main character has to run around the castle and collect skulls instead of coins. The developer has changed all the textures to make the project look like DOOM. He also reworked all the music to look like a shooter soundtrack. The sound effects of the platformer have been preserved.

The main character appeared in the form of the Doom Slayer: now Mario runs around the level in a green armored suit with a characteristic giant helmet. The game interface has also been redesigned – as noted by p3st gaming, enthusiasts from DorfDork, KiritoDev, Tilly, Booster, and cjaawesome contributed to its creation. Most of the enemies remained the same, but modders replaced the boo with cacodemons.

Nintendo previously announced a Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation for Switch. It will include three projects: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. All of them will receive updated graphics and soundtrack. The release of the kit is scheduled for September 18.
