Recall, until recently, the release of the pre-release version of Everspace 2 (only on PC) was scheduled for mid-December this year. Now the developers have decided to postpone the premiere until January 2021.

As is the case with the upcoming expansion of Path of Exile, the transfer of Everspace 2 is not connected with production difficulties, but with the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is now slated for release on December 10.

Rockfish Games explained their decision as follows: firstly, the attention of most streamers and the media in December will be focused on Cyberpunk 2077, and, secondly, there are many fans of CD Projekt RED among the fans and developers of Everspace 2.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first transfer of Everspace 2 due to Cyberpunk 2077: earlier Rockfish Games decided not to release the game in September, including because of the release of the hotly anticipated action RPG was scheduled for this month.

To soften the news of the postponement, Rockfish Games has promised to send all Everspace 2 contributors keys for a closed beta ahead of time – November 2 (that is, today) instead of mid-December.

Everspace 2 was funded on Kickstarter – users donated more than $ 560 thousand to the creation of the project. The console version is expected to be released on PS4 and Xbox One in 2021.
