Every iPhone, including the iPhone 12, comes with a USB-C to Lightning cable and EarPods, according to Apple’s regional French online store. This is probably due to the fact that the country’s legislation requires all smartphones to have a headset in the kit, which should protect children under 14 from the potential risk of electromagnetic radiation from a cellular device. Advertising of using a mobile phone without a headset is a criminal offense in France and is punishable by a fine of 75 thousand euros.
Recall that for the “fight for the environment” Apple has ceased to complete existing and new models of smartphones with a charger and wired headphones. To compensate for this inconvenience, the company has reduced the price of the EarPods to $ 19, and a new 20-watt charging adapter will cost the same $ 19. By the way, the old 18-watt power supply, which was discontinued, was sold for $ 20.
