Facebook begins public testing of the dark theme in its Android app
Facebook began internal testing of a dark theme for a branded Android app last year. Note that the company has already added a dark theme to the social media web interface and iOS app. Meanwhile, Facebook’s Android client still lacks a dark mode.
However, Android users do not have to wait long for innovation. Facebook has begun public testing of Dark Mode. Screenshots leaked a few months ago showcase what the dark theme would look like in an Android app. And today, a video posted by Jane Manchun Wong’s account showed her in action on Twitter. The caption to the video says that a Facebook spokesman has confirmed information about the beginning of public testing of the dark mode.
It is assumed that if testing the new function gives positive results, the company will add it to the stable version of the application before the end of this year.
